Tesco team store dash raises £5000

A CHARITY dash by a supermarket team has so far generated a whopping £5000.

The Annan Tesco team of Martin Starr, Lorna White, Ryan ‘Biff’ Smith and Lindsay Currie successfully completed their mission to visit 22 stores in the chain in the space of just 22 hours — crammed into a Nissan Micra.
They had to perform a forfeit at every store and Martin said: “It was brilliant. It was good fun, and well supported by all the Tesco stores that we visited.”
The challenge was completed successfully in support of Lymphoma UK, Diabetes UK and the British Heart Foundation, and in memory of Tesco colleague Vicky Gordon.
Looking forward, Martin says plans are developing for 42 stores in 42 hours, and then maybe 92 in England.
And he said: “We’re also thinking about getting in contact with Murrayfield and doing the challenge of sitting in every seat — which is 65,000.”
Grateful for all the support in this year’s event, Martin added: “A massive thank you to everyone who supported us — it’s been greatly appreciated, and it’s a great comfort, because obviously it was for Vicky.”
