The woman, aged 41, who cannot be named for legal reasons involving the children, admitted committing the offence in Dumfries in October.
She also pleaded guilty at Dumfries Sheriff Court on Monday to wilfully neglecting three children aged under 10 in a manner likely to cause them unnecessary suffering or injury to health by keeping them in unsanitary living conditions and failed to keep the house free from dangers.
Sentence has been deferred for a month for background reports.
