Antique jewellery taken in Moffat house raid

ENGAGEMENT and weddings rings as well as gold chains and other jewellery have been stolen from a Moffat home, it has been revealed.

Police Scotland are investigating a break-in at a house in Old Well Road in Moffat sometime between January Sunday 10 and the following Saturday.
Constable Gary Gillan at Moffat said: “The house in question was not occupied when the break-in happened.
“The value of the stolen items is not known at this time. Some of the items were antique and were of great sentimental value.”
He added: “We ask anyone in the area to get in touch with us through the 101 number if they can help in any way with this crime.
“We are keen to hear of any suspicious activity in the Moffat area over this period. Again, no matter how small the piece of information might seem, it may just be the missing piece which helps us solve this crime.”
