Man dies playing 'walking football'

Police Scotland confirmed that on Monday a 70-year-old man collapsed whilst taking part in 'walking football' at the Queen of the South FC complex. He was attended to by ambulance staff, however, was pronounced dead at the scene. Walking football is a version football where any player caught running concedes a free kick to the opposition. The game was created to help senior players get back into the game. Police say the Procurator Fiscal at Dumfries has been informed. NEWSDESK: 01461-202417
