Woman dies after A75 crash
A WOMAN has died following a crash on the A75 yesterday morning. The 77-year-old was a passenger in a red Suzuki Ignis, which was in a collision with a white Peugeot Partner van at about 11.20 am near Skyreburn. She was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries but later died. The driver and passenger of the Peugeot Partner a 70-year-old man and 70-year-old woman, were taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment. However, the driver of the Suzuki, a 74-year-old man, was not injured. Road policing officers are appealing for information and Inspector Gavin McHallum said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died at this difficult time. “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and we would urge anyone who saw what happened or who has dashcam footage from the area to come forward. “We're particularly keen to speak with the driver of a red van seen travelling east on the A75, who may have information that could assist our enquiries.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 1251 of 28 May, 2025.
