Windfarm parts arrive

TURBINE blades arrived at an Annandale windfarm site this week, ready for installation.

The blades and tower sections were brought to the Solwaybank development near Waterbeck from Glasgow.

They were transported down the M74 in convoys, coming off at junction 21, Kirkpatrick Fleming; then onto the B6537 and in via Chapelknowe, where a new haulage track has been constructed to the site.

The 15 turbine windfarm is being developed by Renewable Energy Systems Ltd and is expected to become operational later this year.
