Weather affects bin collections

SOME bin collections across Dumfries and Galloway will be affected by the current wintry weather conditions, say the council.
Officials today released a statement saying crews will continue to collect waste where it is safe to do so, but warned that snow, flooding and icy roads can make certain areas inaccessible.

A spokesperson added: "You may be asked to leave your bins out for the remainder of the week. In exceptional circumstances, collections may be temporarily suspended in some areas – if this happens, we’ll keep you informed via our website.
"Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to keep everyone safe."
