RIVER levels in the region are starting to show signs of recovery after a spell of wet weather. SEPA yesterday released their latest water scarcity report and said they have seen widespread improvement across the west of Scotland, including this area. Their update noted that the River Esk in Dumfriesshire has recovered from a moderate scarcity warning to alert level. Furthermore, the Annan, Nith and Dee catchments have all recovered from alert to early warning.
