Village home fire

THE main road through New Abbey was closed on Sunday night as fire crews tackled a house blaze. The A710 was shut due to the incident on Main Street, which was reported at 7.15 pm. Emergency services rushed to the scene and diversions were put in place, with villagers advised to keep their windows closed. Later that evening the fire was put out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and there were no reported injuries.
