PATIENTS in Dumfriesshire and Stewartry are invited to give their views about GP services at pop-up events. Dumfries, Thornhill, Castle Douglas, Dalbeattie and Kirkcudbright residents are being asked to share their opinions on GP services as part of the on-going General Medical Services (GMS) Review. Feedback from the pop-ups will feed into the health board’s plan for the future of GP services in the region. Designed to be quick, simple, and convenient – no appointment is needed. Questions are straightforward, with no jargon, simply asking one simple question – what matters most to you about your GP practice? Deputy Medical Director and GP Dr Grecy Bell said: “We often hear from staff about what needs to improve, but patients sometimes see things differently. “These events are a chance to consider everything we’ve heard to date, and to make sure that what’s taken forward reflects the needs of everyone.” The pop-event in both areas will be held on the following dates:

  • Dumfries: Wednesday, October 22 at Atrium DGRI from 3 pm to 6 pm
  • Castle Douglas: Thursday, November 6 at Tesco from 3 pm to 6 pm –
  • Dalbeattie: Tuesday November 11 at Coop from 3 pm to 6 pm –
  • Kirkcudbright: Tuesday November 18 at TBC from 3 pm to 6 pm
