Vans set on fire

Detectives are appealing for information following wilful fires to five vehicles in Dumfries on Tuesday night. Four Iveco flatbed vans were set on fire and another nearby was also damaged. It happened between 9 pm and 11 pm, near to Cargen Tower at the Garroch Business Park. Emergency services attended and the fires were put out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. There were no reported injuries. Detective Constable Christopher Trosh said: “These fires are being treated as wilful and an investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances. “We are appealing for any witnesses who were near the area at the time and noticed anything suspicious.

In addition, anyone with CCTV or dash-cam footage which may have captured any vehicles coming and going from the area, is asked to contact police.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3447 of Tuesday, 6 January, 2026.
