POLICE want to trace a van driver who was involved in a disturbance on the A709 on Tuesday afternoon. He was driving a white panel van, which was embroiled in an incident at about 12.30 pm on the road between Lockerbie and Shillahill bridge. The van overtook a silver Hyundai Ioniq 5, then stopped and the driver got out of the van, and caused damage to the Hyundai by hitting the driver’s door. It was reported to police and officers are now appealing for information and have released a description of the motorist they wish to speak to. He is aged in his mid-30s, about 5ft 9ins tall, of stocky build with light ginger hair and a short beard. At the time, he was wearing a beige t shirt, grey shorts and black trainers. Constable Lawrence Nelson said: “I am asking any member of the public who witnessed the incident, or who have any dash cam footage of the area at the time, to contact Police Scotland quoting reference number 1423 of 21 October.”
