Tree-mendous honour for festive fir-m
A CHRISTMAS tree from Dumfries and Galloway is in pride of place at 10 Downing Street. The Nordman Fir which was grown in Kirkgunzeon, will be one of the two main trees at the Prime Minister’s London residence this festive season. It was grown by family firm Scottish Christmas Trees, who were the runners up in a UK wide competition to supply the prestigious address. Owner Rory Young said: “We are absolutely delighted. It’s such an honour to have our tree chosen by our peers for Downing Street from over 90 entries and 300 growers, it’s a real celebration of the care and passion Lee and our team puts into every tree we grow and we take such pride in producing trees that bring warmth, beauty, and a true sense of Christmas into people’s homes. “This recognition puts Scottish growers on the national stage and celebrates, bringing a little piece of Scotland to London this Christmas.”.
