A NEW national training opportunity for Scotland’s arts and culture organisations has just launched, with applications invited from this region.

The Cultural Business Development Programme (CBDP), designed and delivered by Curated Place with support from Creative Scotland, begins this September.

It will offer free support to strengthen business strategy, leadership and sustainability across the sector.

The 12-week hybrid programme is tailored to cultural organisations of all shapes and sizes, based anywhere in Scotland.

Participants will take part in weekly expert-led online sessions, combined with in-person gatherings in Aberdeen, Edinburgh or Glasgow at the beginning and end of the course.

Applications are now open and will close on 15 July. Places are limited to 15, and interest is expected to be high.

There will be a second round starting in January 2026.

A CBDP spokesperson said: “We’re excited to launch this new programme for the sector. The mix of face to face and online teaching, alongside the support from Creative Scotland, makes the programme accessible to participants across the country.

“Our previous professional development programmes have helped participants to secure over £3m for their projects and businesses, and created a network across 18 countries. The Scottish cohorts will join a growing international community.

“This programme will empower cultural organisations to demonstrate their impact in compelling ways, highlighting their vital role in economic, social, and cultural development. Through expert guidance, collaborative learning, and a supportive network of peers, leaders will gain the tools and inspiration to drive innovation and ensure long-term sustainability. It’s not just about recognising value—it’s about amplifying it.”
