Tracey is team DG!
A FARMER from Dalbeattie will be making the case for Dumfries and Galloway at a national debate. Tracey Roan, of Boreland of Colvend, is all set to be a participant in the grand finale of the Big Farm Debate Tour. The aim of the free event in Edinburgh next week is to decide which region in Scotland produces Scotland’s best produce. And Tracey Roan will insist that with some of Scotland’s finest grass-growing land, the South West is where the best farmers reside. The region, she’ll say, isn’t just the engine room of the dairy sector, it’s home to the best beef, lamb, and people too. Previewing the event on social media, she joked: “Surely an easy debate to win - hands down D&G is the best #westisbest #landofmilkandhoney.” Tracey will be up against Robert Maitland representing Aberdeenshire; James Porter from Angus; and Finlay MacIntyre will champion upland Perthshire. It takes place at the Royal Highland Showground on Tuesday, November 18, starting at 8 pm. The audience can expect laughs, local pride and a celebration of Scotland’s farmers at their best.
