WIGTOWN and Bladnoch are taking a major step forward as they begin developing their Borderlands Town Investment Plan (BTIP).

Spearheaded by the Wigtown and Bladnoch Town Team, supported by GC Insight, the BTIP aims to turn the shared vision of the area’s Place Plan into reality, securing investment and driving growth.

Structured around five key themes that reflect the priorities of the community:

  • a revitalised town centre
  • better connected transport
  • better homes for all
  • a green and natural place
  • a growing economy

A number of projects, such as the redevelopment of the Martyrs Stake board walk, are already complete and others including a review of walks and green spaces are already underway.

Residents are now being invited to contribute to the next phase of the plan at a community briefing session at the County Buildings on Tuesday evening from 6 pm.

Explaining more, a spokesperson for the town team said: “This is a community plan, and its success depends on community involvement. Residents, business owners, and local groups are invited to contribute their energy and ideas. Whether you’re passionate about one of the existing themes or have ideas for new projects that align with the Place Plan goals, we want to hear from you. Your input and participation are vital to shaping a thriving future for Wigtown and Bladnoch.

“This is our opportunity to build on the momentum and shape a thriving, sustainable future for Wigtown and Bladnoch. We invite you to be part of it.”
