LOCKERBIE Tornadoes Basketball Club will play in the semi final of the Anderson Cup after beating the Glasgow Eagles 92-63 at Lockerbie Academy last Thursday night.
The team will now host North Lanarkshire Chiefs on Tuesday March 25 as they try and earn a spot in the final of the competition and a chance to lift some silverware. Tip-off is at 7.30 pm at Lockerbie Academy games hall, and spectators are encouraged to come along and back the region’s only amateur basketball club.
Lockerbie are enjoying a great season so far. They are currently top of the Strathclyde League Basketball Association Division One, undefeated. With only four league fixtures remaining, the team is hopeful of completing an invincible season. It is back to league business tonight with a trip away to Glasgow Fever. The last time the two sides met the Tornadoes claimed victory by just a single point, so it should certainly be an entertaining match.
Meanwhile, the club’s junior section continues to thrive with sessions running each Tuesday evening from 6 pm to 7 pm.
