Teen arrested after Stranraer Academy incident
STRANRAER Academy went into lockdown earlier this week, after reports that a teenager threatened to have a knife. Police promptly attended the school on McMaster’s Road just after 12 pm on Tuesday, later confirming there was no knife involved. The lockdown lasted around ten minutes, a Dumfries and Galloway Council spokesperson said: "We can confirm an individual was making threats of having a knife in their possession in Stranraer Academy grounds on Tuesday 11 November. "The Police were called and the school was placed in a temporary lockdown of less than ten minutes until the police and staff dealt with the situation. It was suitably defused and school returned to 'normal' within ten minutes of the incident." A 14-year-old was arrested and charged in connection and will be reported to the appropriate authorities. A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “Around 12.10 pm on Tuesday, 11 November, 2025, we received a report of a disturbance in the McMaster's Road area. “Officers attended and no injuries were reported. “A 14-year-old male youth has been arrested and charged in connection, and a report will be submitted to the relevant authorities. “There was no risk to the wider public as a result of the incident.”
