Store theft appeal

Police are appealing for information following a theft at a shop in Kirkconnel.

At about 10.20pm last Thursday, 12 November, entry was forced to the Premier Store on Main Street. The glass within the door was smashed and items including alcohol and e-cigarette accessories were stolen.
Two men dressed in dark clothing with backpacks and their hoods up, were seen around the time of the incident and left on push bikes in the direction of Kelloholm.
Constable Corisande Lee, of Sanquhar Community Policing Unit, said: “Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone who has information or who may live in the area and heard or saw anything suspicious to contact police as soon as possible.
“We know that two men dressed all in dark clothing were seen in the vicinity at the time and headed in the direction of Kelloholm on push bikes. If you saw anyone matching the description please let us know.
“Although the property was secure, I would also like to take this opportunity to remind business owners to review their security – make sure to keep doors and windows locked at all times.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 3607 of Thursday, 12 November 2020 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
