SCOTT and Kerry Burns don’t normally pick up hitchhikers but they made an exception at the weekend when they were flagged down by a well known face.

TV presenter Denise Welch and her husband Lincoln persuaded the couple and son Dagon to stop and give them a lift to Kirkcudbright.

Explaining what was going on, Kerry said: “Last Sunday we had a couple of celebs in our car: Denise and Lincoln were on the run from Channel 4’s Celebrity Hunted TV show, for the charity StandUp2Cancer.

“Of course we had to help them for such an amazing charity and they were the loveliest couple I’ve met. I can’t wait to see how they got on when it’s eventually aired on TV.”
