Sign work

ESSENTIAL sign installation will take place on the A76 in three places next month and will cause traffic disruption.
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking the works as part of the 20mph speed limit programme on the A76.
They will be on site at Thornhill and Kirkconnel from Monday March 9 until Friday March 20 between the hours of 9.30 am and 4 pm; and at Sanquhar from March 23-27.
They will all require single lane closures managed by temporary traffic lights.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
An Amey spokesperson said: "These schemes will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by informing future road safety improvement works in this location.
"This initiative supports the Scottish Government’s commitment to improving road safety and reducing casualties by introducing 20 mph limits on appropriate roads across Scotland by March 2026.
"Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken."
