Sight loss group to launch

A NEW group supporting those experiencing sight loss within the region will launch on Friday. National charities Sight Scotland, Scotland Veterans and Visibility Scotland have come together to create the Dumfries and Galloway Sight Loss Council (SLC), which seeks to champion the voices of its members, who with their lived experience with visual impairment are committed to creating inclusive and accessible communities. The new SLC is third in Scotland following the establishment of similar councils in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Friday's event at The Usual Place will host partnering charities in Dumfries and Galloway to support the SLC but also as an opportunity for the community to learn about services within the region.
