TWO men who travelled from Dundee to shoplift in Dumfries were arrested on Tuesday
The pair had stolen over £1000 worth of goods from stores in the town but were soon traced and arrested, at which time their car was found to contain over £2000 of suspected stolen property.
A police spokesperson said: "Both males are wanted for similar thefts across Scotland. They are now in police custody and their car has been seized.
"Retail crime is not a victimless crime and our community officers work closely with retailers to make our area a safe place to work, shop and visit."
