TWO senior leadership appointments have been made at Dumfries and Galloway Council. Karen Brownlie becomes assistant director transport and infrastructure, and Stuart McMillan is now the head of economy and environment. It follows a comprehensive recruitment process but both appointments are internal promotions, as the pair have been covering the roles on an interim basis during the past year. Karen, above, has more than 29 years of experience with the council, having started as a lifeguard in leisure services and progressed through management positions in sports development, community assets and infrastructure. She said: “I am honoured to take on this role and continue serving the region I call home. I will work with colleagues and partners to ensure we deliver the best possible outcomes for everyone living, working or just travelling through Dumfries and Galloway.” [caption id="attachment_65202" align="alignnone" width="488"]
