Send issues directly to council plea
RESIDENTS reporting problems through Fix My Street are being advised to report issues directly to the council. The app and website were designed to make it easier for the public to report problems in the community, which are then forwarded to the relevant party for fixing. And Dumfries residents have been reporting road defects, fly tipping, graffiti, dog fouling and other community issues via the ‘Fix My Street’ app since 2008. In that time 930 issues have been reported to Dumfries and Galloway Council and other agencies. However those using Fix My Street as of this week have reported receiving messages stating: ‘Dumfries and Galloway Council do not currently subscribe to Fix My Street’. A council spokesperson confirmed: “Dumfries and Galloway Council does not use “FixMyStreet” for fault reporting. The council operates an in-house fault reporting system that can be accessed on our website.”
