THIS Christmas, British Garden Centres is inviting homeowners in Dumfries and Galloway to spread festive joy and light up as part of its #LightUpChristmas campaign. The nationwide festive challenge calls on households to decorate the front of their homes with Christmas lights, garlands, wreaths, seasonal plants, inflatables, and anything else that brings a sprinkle of magic to a neighbourhood or street. Entries are open until Monday, December 8th, with homeowners encouraged to share photos of their illuminated displays to win fantastic prizes, including a collection of Christmas decorations to make this festive season shine. Lucy Hewitt, from British Garden Centres, said: “Nothing captures the spirit of the season quite like beautifully decorated homes lighting up towns and villages across the UK. Our 'Light Up Your House' competition is all about celebrating local pride, togetherness, and a love of the Christmas season. It’s a chance for families, neighbours, and whole communities to bring light and colour to the darkest winter nights and share a little joy along the way. "We are encouraging customers to visit their local British Garden Centre for inspiration, decorating ideas, and expert advice."
