SCOTTISH musicians and sport will be centre stage at this year’s Eden Festival. The four-day festival at Raehills Meadows in June will see over 250 artists perform across ten stages. Among them is Scottish songwriting icon Dougie MacLean, who will be performing two sets on the Sunday, one in the afternoon alongside festival regulars Dumfries Community Choir and a solo set later in the day. Other regional talent will also be taking to the stage in Rabbie’s Tavern with Annandale folk band Spectrum set to perform. Set up and led by an Annan Academy teacher, Lynne Russell, it will be the first time members of the band have performed at a music festival.

Meanwhile, music lovers can also keep up with the Scotland’s World Cup journey as the festival is showing the Scotland vs Haiti match in the tavern on Sunday June 14 at 2 am. Looking ahead to the return of the event, festival director Hannah Gould said: “We are very excited to welcome everyone back to the Garden. This year we are super proud of our line up of Julian Marley, Chali 2na, plus Vieux Farka Touré, and super excited to be showing Scotland ‘s World cup game in the best pub in the world! “If that’s not enough, we even have a bank holiday on the Monday!” Picture by - Rob McDougall
