A DUMFRIES school has raised thousands for a charity. St Joseph’s College students welcomed Rodger and Lesley Hill from the DH9 Foundation who delivered life-saving first aid training to S5 and S6 pupils as part of their induction days. And during their visit, the school presented a cheque for £2388.64, raised through its Christmas market and Christmas jumper initiatives. The DH9 Foundation was established in memory of former pupil David Hill to raise awareness of young sudden cardiac death, support CPR training and access to defibrillators, and fund cardiac screening through Cardiac Risk in the Young. It is committed to improving the cardiac health of young people under the age of 35.
