A WARNING has been given about a scam happening in the area.
A young man is attending properties locally claiming to be from EE.
Although he wears a branded jacket and lanyard, he does not have ID.
He claims that he’s doing internet speed checks and asks for their phones.
On one occasion, when the householder went to get her device, the man entered her home. He then tried to get her to fill out a form with her details and bank account information, to switch to EE.
And it’s reported that he uses intimidation and push techniques.
The matter has been reported to police and EE have confirmed they are not currently in the area.
