Robin Rigg fund opens
GROUPS across the region are invited to apply for the latest round of funding from the Robin Rigg Community Fund.
The fund is dispensed by the Solway Firth Partnership and it’s open to groups from Caerlaverock to Palnackie and in between. Payments are for undertaking activities that contribute to the reduction of the effects of climate change or otherwise benefit the community.
With applications now open, groups can apply for a grant of up to £15,000. The deadline for applications to the Robin Rigg Community Fund will be Monday 10 November at 12 pm.
Clair McFarlan, Solway Firth Partnership manager, said: “We are now inviting applications from communities around the Solway coast for projects that will provide benefit to the local community in the areas of environment, renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable development, charity, education, community, and general community amenity schemes or projects.
“Some examples of projects funded in 2025 include: supporting the Harrington Community Centre, funding the Time2Share Bereavement Service, funding inclusive access to the Abbey Vale FC, and supporting Crime and Book Week at Kirkcudbright.”
Mike Edwards, Robin Rigg’s general manager added: “I’m delighted that we are once again inviting applications for the seventh year of the Robin Rigg Community Fund through the Solway Firth Partnership. If you have a worthwhile project that you’d like to see funded in the eligible area this is your chance to make it happen. This fund provides a great opportunity for local communities to benefit in 2026 so why not apply!”
