A VERY special plaque has been presented to The Dryfesdale Lodge Visitor Centre in memory of a woman who died on Pan Am 103.

Alison Hart-Bettany made the gift to remember her friend and nursing colleague Jo Hudson, from Sheffield, who was killed in the Lockerbie Air Disaster, age 22.

At the time she had been travelling to meet her two sisters, who lived in the USA, for a skiing holiday in New England.

Alison’s special tribute will be displayed in the lodge’s remembrance room.

It features a carved image of a belt buckle that all newly qualified nurses received from the Royal Masonic Hospital and Roehampton School of Nursing, where Jo, Alison and others trained and worked together between 1984-1988.

A lodge spokesperson said: “We were recently delighted to welcome Alison and her husband, James.”
