The ice bowl will be home to the contest from April 9-15, with teams from around the world heading to the area to take part.
Great Britain’s women will play five group matches in a bid for promotion for the 2026 season. Their opponents will include Italy, Slovenia, the Republic of Korea, Latvia and Kazakhstan.
Announcing the event as at special photocall yesterday, Cllr Maureen Johnstone said: “This is the tenth Ice Hockey World Championship to be based here in little over a decade.”
Annandale North Cllr Lynne Davis added: “It will be great to welcome our national women’s ice hockey team and so many international visitors in April.”
As well as the matches, there will be lots of entertainment, including female DJ sets, and the council is encouraging youth and community groups to attend the GB matches. To find out more, email [email protected].
