Towns and villages will fall quiet at 11 am to remember those who died in the line of duty in WWI and other wars since.
Wreaths will be laid and tributes paid at churches and memorials across Dumfries and Galloway by old and young. Pipers will play and members of the armed forces, current and retired, will be in attendance at most.
Events are taking place in: Dumfries, Annan, Lockerbie, Moffat, Lochmaben, Gretna Green, Waterbeck, Wamphray, Kirkpatrick Juxta, Langholm, Eastriggs, Brydekirk and Ecclefechan
