OPERATION Overflow will be activated at 10 am this morning in Wigtownshire in response to a weather warning. It's coming into force due to the cancellation of a number of ferry sailings between Cairnryan and Northern Ireland as a consequence of the high winds which are forecast during Storm Bram. Those booked on to any of the affected sailings are advised not to travel to the area as long delays are expected and they should instead seek alternative travel options elsewhere. Please check with Stenaline and P&O Ferries as appropriate for updates on your sailing. Freight drivers attending the area are advised to follow instructions from port operators and Police Scotland about accessing the Operation Overflow site while the cancellations are in place.

Meanwhile, an emergency road closure will start at 11.30 am on the A716 Cornerhouse - Drummore. It's been triggered by a SEPA flood warning around the high tide forecast at approx. 1.30 pm today. The closure will be in place from two hours prior to the high tide and remain in place until such time that the flood warning is no longer in force and the road can be safely reopened.
