Ram memories appeal
TO CELEBRATE the 150th anniversary of Moffat’s Colvin Fountain, residents are being invited to share their memories and thoughts of the historic landmark. Moffat Promotions Group is in the process of gathering people’s recollections, asking ‘what does the ram mean to you?’ as part of a special project to mark the milestone. Explaining more, the chair of Moffat Promotions Group, Linnhe Cringean, said: “Right now we’re in the process of collecting people’s memories and recollections of the fountain, which will be transferred on to a fabric fleece for a large ram puppet which will be in part of the parade at this year’s Christmas lights festival. “We want to gather as many of these as possible and the memory can be something as simple as ‘it reminds me of home’ to reminders of loved ones and other special moments involving the town and the fountain.” “Anyone is welcome to contribute, they can get in touch with us via the Moffat Promotions Group Facebook page or they’d rather to put pen to paper people can pick up a form from 17 Reason’s, Freshly Made Ice Creams or the newsagents.” The cut off for submissions is Tuesday September 30.
