Rail boost welcomed by MSP
A NEW rail service between Stirling and London Euston is set to improve connectivity for passengers across Dumfriesshire, particularly through enhanced links at Lockerbie station. Dumfriesshire MSP Craig Hoy, who joined Lumo on the inaugural Stirling-to-London journey, welcomed the move as a major boost for transport links between Dumfriesshire and the rest of the UK. He said: “For residents in Dumfriesshire, the route marks a significant improvement in long-distance rail connectivity, with Lockerbie passengers gaining additional direct services to London, Preston, Crewe and Milton Keynes. "It is important this opportunity is fully grasped and that other gaps in our transport network are addressed. That is what I will continue working towards in the months and years ahead.”
