Racing across Scotland

TWO friend are recovering after an epic 80 hour run in the Race Across Scotland.

Neil Richardson, from Kirkpatrick Fleming, took part in the gruelling 215 mile race along the Southern Upland Way- the first ADAC member ever to do so.

Group members met him along the way at Beattock and were closely following his progress, along with friend Steve Ratcliffe.

Crossing the finish line, above, the pair were in good spirits despite spending many miles crossing bogs and climbing 30,000 foot of hill.

They finished in the top 25 and were presented with their Gold RAS Belt Buckles by race director Ian Yates – no mean feat as less than 50 per cent of the starting field make it to the end.
