Protest was a no-go

RUMOURS of a planned motorway protest at the border yesterday failed to materialise.

Social media had been rife with news of a go-slow on the A74/M74 at Gretna at noon on Wednesday - but in the end it didn’t happen, although police were posted to the area to keep an eye out.

However, the anonymous organisers, who are behind a raft of similar events in England, are hoping that hauliers and farmers will turn out today and tomorrow for more demonstrations.
