ROYAL VISIT . . . the Princess Royal visited Wigtownshire to officially open the Rowan Glen factory. The yoghurt factory at Palnure ceased operations in November 2022 and closed for a short period of time. The factory reopened shortly afterwards, with limited production, following the purchase by Factory Manager, Alan Baxter, supported by South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE). During her visit Princess Anne was given a tour of the production facility by managing director Alan Baxter who praised his dedicated team and the support of his family, and suppliers. Her Royal Highness, also unveiled a plaque and signed the new visitor book. She had originally opened the building in 1997.

FIGURES released by Public Health Scotland on Tuesday show delayed discharge numbers have improved compared to last year in Dumfries and Galloway, however, they still remain far higher than pre-pandemic
