A NEW partnership in the region aims to unlock economic growth.

South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) and Dumfries and Galloway College are working together to create practical and tangible solutions that will drive economic and environmental success for the region.

They are focusing on utilising the strengths and assets of Scotland’s Natural Capital Innovation Zone and trying to identify growth areas which can benefit the college’s students and the wider economy of Dumfries and Galloway.

SOSE chief executive Jane Morrison-Ross said: “Our businesses, communities, partners and people need to work together to achieve the sustainable economic future we all want for the South of Scotland.

“By strengthening our relationship through this new partnership, we will work towards our shared vision for economic and environmental successes, using the expertise both organisations have.”

College principal Douglas Dickson added: “This partnership represents a powerful step forward for our region.

“We can connect our students, staff, and communities directly to opportunities that drive innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth.”
