Poppy wall goes live
Published: 7th November 2025|Location: Regionwide
A HANDMADE poppy wall hanging has now been put up in the Dumfries Remembrance Garden at Brooms Road. It is the culmination of many weeks of work by people from all over the region who have been knitting, crocheting and crafting poppies to attach to the drape. It was co-ordinated by the People’s Project with special thanks expressed to Doreen Johnston for organising the crafters who gave their time to work on this project. The eye-catching hanging features many different styles and types of poppy as everyone was free to make their own design. The wall hanging will stay in place until after Remembrance Day and residents are urged to pop along and see it.
