Missing cattle herd traced after appeal

A HERD of cattle, reported missing in the Mid Annandale countryside, has been traced following a police appeal.

The animals, around one and two years old, disappeared from a field in the area between Lockerbie and Bankshill.

The nine black and white and two brown heifers were nowhere to be seen when they were routinely checked.

But Police Scotland, which issued the appeal on Sunday, stated today: “We’re pleased to report that the cattle have been found nearby.”
