A CRACKDOWN on poaching has been taking place across the Stewartry and Wigtownshire.

The area’s community policing teams have put on poaching patrols, following up intelligence they have been given on such rural crime.

And they’ve been working hand in hand with local farmers, Forestry and Land Scotland Rangers, and other rural partners to share information and increase visibility in key areas.

The aim is to tackle issues such as theft, wildlife crime and anti-social behaviour across the countryside.

A force spokesperson said: “By working together, we are committed to keeping our rural communities safe.

“Remember and stay vigilant, if you see anything suspicious note as much detail as you safely can and call it in.”
