Police hunt vandal trio who smashed windows
OFFICERS in Dumfries are appealing for information after a property was vandalised. The incident happened around 10.20 am on Sunday at an address in Deans Avenue. A number of windows were smashed as well as the windscreen of a car which was parked outside. A neighbour – who wished not to be named – said the incident was “frightening”. They said: “It was a really scary and frightening experience. The three men were dressed in dark clothing and had hoods up when it was boiling outside.” Following enquiries, officers believe three male suspects approached the property where they carried out the vandalism before making off in a silver Toyota Aygo. Constable Stephen Dickson said: “Significant damage was caused to this property and we are carrying out a number of enquiries to trace those responsible. “I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or noticed anything suspicious around the time to please contact us. “In addition, anyone with private CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage is urged to get in touch as this could assist our investigation.” Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 1276 of 13 July, 2025.
