PICTURES: Aftermath of Dalton blaze

INVESTIGATORS have stated that a blaze in a rural property in Mid Annandale is not being treated as suspiscious. Crews from Dumfries, Lockerbie and Annan were called to a blaze next to Dalton Pottery at 2.10 pm on Thursday. The crews were in action fighting what was described as ‘a substantial’ fire and the B725 was closed between Dalton and Carrutherstown.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service also set up a 200 metre exclusion zone around the area.
