Outdoor theatre at Crawick

ENJOY some outdoor theatre at the Crawick Multiverse next week with Illyria’s production of HMS Pinafore. Full to the gunwales with sharp dialogue and catchy tunes, this timeless comic opera is performed outdoors by a cast of six outstanding performers on a spectacular nautical set, using Sullivan’s full score. Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic opera HMS Pinafore is a hilarious tale of love, honour and duty. Josephine, the daughter of Captain Corcoran, falls for lowly sailor Ralph Rackstraw. However, she’s torn between her true love, and her father’s desire for her to marry Sir Joseph Porter, the First Lord of the Admiralty. Audience members are advised to come prepared for all kinds of weather and to being their own seating. Illyria will perform HMS Pinafore at the Crawick Multiverse from 6 pm on Tuesday, August 12.
