A MAN charged with the attempted murder of a police officer has made no plea. Martin McGroary appeared at Dumfries Sheriff Court today (Thursday) where he made no plea to eight offences. These include three road traffic offences and assault to severe injury, danger of life and attempted murder. The 26-year-old has been committed for further examination and has been remanded in custody. His next appearance in court will be within eight days. It comes after a Subaru Forester was deliberately driven at the officer after police were called to assist a member of the public in Herries Avenue at about 1.20 am on Monday.
