No plea in early morning assault and robbery case

A DUMFRIES man alleged to have committed an assault and a robbery has made no plea. Anthony Patterson was arrested and charged by Police Scotland following the incident on Glasgow Road, near Cuckoo Bridge between 5 am and 6.30 am on Sunday, August 10. The 47-year-old has been charged with two offences – assault and robbery and being in possession of an offensive weapon in a public place without a reasonable excuse or lawful authority. Patterson made no plea and was committed for further examination. He was refused bail and is remanded in custody. His next court appearance is due within eight days.
