A PUBLIC body has ruled that no further action will be taken against a council data blunder.

The Information Commissionerís Officer (ICO) has stated it is satisfied with the actions of Dumfries and Galloway Council after the personal details of some staff were mistakenly posted online.
It is understood the data leak, which was the third such breach in just four years, contained details of redundancy payments to named council staff.
The information was published in response to a Freedom of Information request asking for details for all invoices for more than £500 received and paid by Dumfries and Galloway Council from 2009 to 2013, and after being made aware of the breach immediate steps were taken to remove the data from the WhatDoTheyKnow website.
And the ICO, who were notified of the incident immediately, informed the council of their decision on April 11.
Their determination states that because of the lack of ësubstantial damage and distressí caused by the breach and the remedial measures taken in the aftermath no further action is necessary.
An ICO spokesman added: ìWe made enquiries into this incident and it was concluded that no formal action needed to be taken.î
The data blunder was the third such incident for the local authority in recent years.
It came after the names, dates of births and salaries of nearly 900 employees were mistakenly posted online in 2011, and the names, addresses and contact details of 2115 childminders were also sent out to 83 local childcare providers in error in 2012.
