New season at the music club

DUMFRIES Accordion and Fiddle Club will kick off their new season with an opening night at the Crichton Golf Club on September 2.

Musselburgh based Ewan Galloway and his Scottish Dance Band will be the first guest artistes of the new season. Ewan and the band are firm favourites the length and breadth of Scotland and Ewan is equally popular as a presenter on Radio GH, which features many Scottish music shows.

The 2025/2026 season sees the Dumfries Accordion and Fiddle Club celebrate its 60th year anniversary, and the club have a couple of special events arranged for this milestone.

Current secretary John Caskie who has compèred the club for 38 years, said: “Everyone is excited to be celebrating this famous milestone for the club and many memories are coming forward for the first few nights and years at the Hole in the Wa’. This year’s guest artiste list features a good blend of experienced band leaders, soloists, a younger ‘upcoming’ band, button key player and a special 60th anniversary club night being held in December. A special mix of talents for a special year.”
